A Message from MAU President, Dr. Aristides Maza Duerto

Thank you for your interest in Millennia Atlantic University (MAU). On behalf of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni, it is my pleasure to welcome you and invite you to discover the opportunities that await you as part of the MAU community.

For more than two decades, MAU has grown from an entrepreneurial vision into a university serving students from South Florida and around the world, while remaining committed to the values that have guided us from the beginning: education, opportunity, perseverance, and student success.

At Millennia Atlantic University, we believe that education should do more than prepare students to earn a degree. It should provide them with the knowledge, confidence, practical skills, and perspective necessary to pursue meaningful professional and personal goals. This belief continues to guide our commitment to providing a quality, career-focused business education centered on the development and success of each student.

Our academic programs combine theoretical foundations with practical application, encouraging students to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, and apply what they learn to real-world business environments. Our faculty bring both academic qualifications and relevant professional experience into the classroom, helping students connect their studies with the realities and expectations of today’s workplace.

Entrepreneurship and innovation are important parts of MAU’s identity and vision for the future. Through the continued development of our School of Entrepreneurship, we are expanding opportunities for students to explore business creation, innovation, leadership, and the entrepreneurial mindset. Whether a student’s ambition is to launch a business, grow a family enterprise, advance within an organization, or become a leader in a changing economy, we want MAU to be a place where ideas can develop into opportunities.

Our location in Doral, Florida, in the heart of the greater Miami metropolitan area, provides another important dimension to the MAU experience. Miami is one of the nation’s most internationally connected metropolitan areas and a dynamic center for entrepreneurship, international commerce, finance, technology, hospitality, and culture.

We view our location as an extension of the classroom. Studying business in this environment gives our students exposure to diverse industries, cultures, entrepreneurial ideas, and professional perspectives. Our own university community reflects that international character, bringing together students from different backgrounds and experiences and preparing them to participate in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

We also recognize that pursuing a university education represents an important investment in the future. For many of our students, higher education is more than the pursuit of a credential; it is an opportunity to transform an ambition into a career, a business, professional advancement, or a better future for themselves and their families. We take that responsibility seriously.

The university experience, however, extends well beyond the classroom. Through athletics, student activities, professional development, institutional events, and alumni engagement, students have opportunities to build relationships, strengthen leadership and teamwork skills, and become active members of the MAU community. Our athletic programs, in particular, provide student-athletes with the opportunity to pursue competitive excellence while continuing to advance toward their academic goals.

One of the qualities I value most about Millennia Atlantic University is our commitment to remaining a university where students are known as individuals. Every student arrives with a different story, different ambitions, and different reasons for pursuing higher education. Our responsibility is not simply to educate our students, but to challenge them academically, encourage their development, and provide an environment in which they have the opportunity to grow and succeed.

As we look toward MAU’s next chapter, we are continuing to invest in academic innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, professional development, and stronger connections between education and the business community. We are proud of what our university has accomplished during its first two decades, but we are equally excited about what comes next—and about the students who will help shape that future.
